First camping trip of the year! (Part 2)

One of the best things about camping near the Breede River is obviously the river!  (Who would have thought?)  As mentioned in a previous post, Rivierplaas is situated right next to the river and they have a section where you can just float around on large tyres, canoes and there is even a barge type thing for those sunset booze cruizes. 🙂

Logan was a bit nervous of the “Big water” on the first day and screamed his head off when I took him in, but eventually he became more confident.  There was a little blow up boat that he was pushed around in and eventually I got him in the water with me and he “swam” around with one arm gripping me and the other one hanging free.  Very proud of the little bugger and I’m sure the more he is exposed to water he’ll become more confident in his abilities.

Besides chilling in the river, the rest of the time was spent trying to take advantage of any available shade.  Some people went through to town (Rawsonville being the closest) once a day to ‘gather supplies’, but mostly it was rather relaxing.

For New Years Eve the campsite owners organised a ‘Pirate Party’, which we ended up joining for a few hours.  All in all, it was a good party and a nice relaxing weekend.
